TeXtreme® Product Development Director contributor to new book on Lightweight Composites

The book Lightweight Composite structures in transport was published earlier this year. Fredrik Ohlsson Product Development Director at TeXtreme® has been writing the chapter about Spread Tow reinforcements, Weight reduction by optimized reinforcement structures.

He has expertise on two fronts: (i) quantifying dynamic loading behaviour of structures such as failure mechanics, impact and crash, and (ii) hybrid composites reinforcement to improve dynamic performance and durability of composite applications .Dr James Njuguna has a long-standing interest and extensive research experience in advanced composite materials (and nanomaterials) for lightweight structural applications. The book covers a range of different material classes with emphasis on advanced material, for the benefit of those working in the aerospace, motorsport, defense and automotive engineering industries; R&D managers, designers and material engineers are particularly catered for here. An invaluable reference, this book consists of segments on material selection, the properties and performance of materials and structures, design solutions and manufacturing techniques. TeXtreme® has over ten years of experience manufacturing and testing real-world applications of Spread Tow reinforcement technology. This knowledge combined with flexible production capabilities plus access to the largest global capacity of Spread Tow fabrics means rapid delivery of tailor-made fabrics to customers, and reduced time-to-market for their products.

Mr. Fredrik Ohlsson is the Product Development Director at Oxeon and in charge of development of existing and new products. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical engineering from The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. He has been involved in the development and technical support of TeXtreme® since the beginning and is currently responsible for developing the next generation of ultra-light carbon fiber reinforcements.
