TeXtreme® Woven Spread Tow Bio-Based Flax Fabrics
TeXtreme® Bio-based Flax offers a renewable reinforcement solution for composite applications where sustainability, lightweight performance, and structural reliability are key. Made from natural flax fibers arranged using TeXtreme® Spread Tow Thin-Ply Technology, these fabrics combine environmental responsibility with the mechanical efficiency required for modern high-performance components.
Available in both 0/90 and +/- 45 fiber orientations, TeXtreme® Bio-based Flax provides directional stiffness and impact resistance in a lightweight format. The Spread Tow architecture eliminates the twisted yarns typically found in natural fiber reinforcements, maintaining straighter fibers for improved fiber alignment, material uniformity, and processing efficiency. TeXtreme® Bio-based Flax can also be used to achieve improved surface smoothness and offers excellent dampening properties, further enhancing performance in vibration-sensitive or acoustic applications.
